Step 1: Use Google with search operators
Search the name in quotes plus one detail you know, then limit to a site:
- `"Jordan Ellis" Austin` – the name plus a city.
- `"Jordan Ellis" site:instagram.com` – only Instagram results. Swap in linkedin.com/in, facebook.com, tiktok.com, x.com.
- `"Jordan Ellis" "University of Texas"` – name plus school or employer.
- `"Jordan Ellis" (runner OR marathon)` – name plus a hobby you know about.
Private search. Nobody is notified.
Step 2: Search inside each platform
- Facebook: search the name, then filter People by city, education or work.
- LinkedIn: best for jobs and schools; filter by location and company.
- Instagram and TikTok: search the name and likely usernames; scroll to accounts with matching photos.
- X and Threads: search the name and check bios for location.
Step 3: Pivot on what you find
Once you have one profile, use its username on other sites with our free username search, and reverse-search a profile photo (how to). Friends and tagged photos often lead to other accounts.
Step 4: Use a people search for common names
A common name can return thousands of profiles. TrueSearch compiles public profiles, photos, usernames and web mentions tied to a name; add a city or age to narrow it, and match by photo.
Stay on the right side of the line
Looking at public profiles is fine. Creating fake accounts to get into private ones, contacting someone who has blocked you, or compiling information to harass someone is not. See how to look someone up ethically.
