Hinge safety guide

Hinge at a glance

• Owner: Match Group.
• Verification: Selfie Verification (a short video selfie compared to profile photos).
• Public profiles: none; Hinge profiles are only visible inside the app.
• Video chat: built in.

Hinge red flags

• A vague high-earning job ("investor", "entrepreneur") that matches no public profile.
• Crypto or trading talk early.
• Prompts that never mention anything local.
• Pressure to switch to WhatsApp or Telegram.

Can you check if someone is on Hinge?

There is no legitimate way to search Hinge for a specific person or to see whether someone is active. Apps do not publish member lists or "last active" data, and services claiming to show it are misleading or break the app's rules. What you can do: check publicly indexed photos and usernames, and ask directly. See is he still on dating apps?
