Solar lead list calculator
For solar setters and closers working purchased, aged, event or door-knock leads: estimate how much of the list is still reachable and what the dead numbers cost your dial time or text budget. Every rate is editable; nothing is stored.
Why solar lead lists go bad
- Solar teams often buy or combine leads from several sources, and each one ages at a different rate.
- Web form and quote-request leads can include mistyped or made-up numbers that never worked.
- Door-knock and event sign-up sheets are handwritten, so digits get misread when they are typed in.
- Some homeowners list a landline or VoIP number, which cannot receive a normal text if your appointment reminders run on SMS.
How to get your real numbers
- Pull a random sample of 500 to 1,000 leads from one vendor or one lead source.
- Validate it against live carrier data (TrueSearch for Business does this in about 30 seconds per 1,000).
- Enter the dead, landline and VoIP percentages you get back above.
- Repeat per vendor to see which lead source gives your setters the most reachable numbers.

Are the default rates typical for solar leads?
No. They are editable placeholders, not solar-industry statistics. Rates vary a lot by lead vendor, lead type and age. Validate a sample of your own leads and enter what you find.
How should I set list age for purchased solar leads?
Use the months since the lead was generated, not since you bought it. A lead sold to you today may have been collected many months ago, and it may have been sold to other installers too.
Does this check Do Not Call, litigator lists or consent?
No. The calculator only estimates reachability, and TrueSearch for Business checks validity, line type and carrier. It does not scrub against Do Not Call registries or litigator lists, and it does not verify consent. Use the official National Do Not Call Registry (donotcall.gov) and your own consent records for that.
Why do landlines count against texting?
Landlines cannot receive text messages, so every text sent to one is wasted. For calling, a landline can still be a valid contact for a homeowner, so only dead numbers count as wasted dials.
This guide is general information, not legal advice. TrueSearch for Business checks validity, line type and carrier from licensed telecom data. It does not check the National Do Not Call Registry, state DNC lists or the FCC Reassigned Numbers Database. Not a consumer reporting agency; not for FCRA purposes.
