Lead generation list calculator

For lead generation companies and lead sellers: estimate how much of a batch of form fills or aged leads has a reachable phone number, and what the dead numbers cost the buyers who dial or text them. Every rate is editable; nothing is stored.

Why lead generation phone numbers go bad

  • Web forms collect mistyped digits and made-up numbers from people who do not want a call.
  • Leads from different traffic sources can have very different shares of bad numbers.
  • Aged leads that are re-marketed or resold pick up disconnected and reassigned numbers over time.
  • Some people enter a landline or a VoIP app number, which matters if your buyers follow up by text.

How to get your real numbers

  1. Pull a random sample of 500 to 1,000 leads from one traffic source or campaign.
  2. Validate it against live carrier data (TrueSearch for Business does this in about 30 seconds per 1,000).
  3. Enter the dead, landline and VoIP percentages you get back above.
  4. Repeat per source to see which campaigns deliver the most reachable numbers to your buyers.

Questions

Are the default rates typical for lead generation?

No. They are editable placeholders, not industry statistics. Bad-number rates depend on your traffic sources, form design and how old the leads are. Validate a sample of your own leads and enter what you find.

Can I check numbers before a lead is delivered to a buyer?

Yes. The TrueSearch for Business API returns validity, line type and carrier per number in under a second, so you can check a form fill before it is posted or sold.

Does this check Do Not Call, litigator lists or consent?

No. The calculator only estimates reachability, and TrueSearch for Business checks validity, line type and carrier. It does not scrub against Do Not Call registries or litigator lists, and it does not verify consent. Use the official National Do Not Call Registry (donotcall.gov) and your own consent records for that.

Why do landlines count against texting?

Landlines cannot receive text messages, so every text sent to one is wasted. For calling, a landline can still reach the person, so only dead numbers count as wasted dials.

This guide is general information, not legal advice. TrueSearch for Business checks validity, line type and carrier from licensed telecom data. It does not check the National Do Not Call Registry, state DNC lists or the FCC Reassigned Numbers Database. Not a consumer reporting agency; not for FCRA purposes.
