Home services lead list calculator
For HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, pest control and other home services teams calling or texting purchased leads, web quote requests or past customers: estimate how much of the list is still reachable and what the dead numbers cost in CSR time or text budget. Every rate is editable; nothing is stored.
Why home services lead lists go bad
- Past-customer lists in field service software keep every job ever booked, but each phone number is only as current as the last time the customer answered it.
- Homeowners move, and the number on file stays with the old address in your CRM.
- Web quote forms and shared leads can include mistyped or made-up numbers that never worked.
- Many households still list a landline, which cannot receive appointment reminders or review requests sent by text.
How to get your real numbers
- Pull a random sample of 500 to 1,000 numbers from one lead source or from your past-customer list.
- Validate it against live carrier data (TrueSearch for Business does this in about 30 seconds per 1,000).
- Enter the dead, landline and VoIP percentages you get back above.
- Repeat per lead source or by last-job year to see which lists give your CSRs the most reachable homeowners.

Are the default rates typical for home services leads?
No. They are editable placeholders, not home services industry statistics. Rates vary a lot by lead source, how the number was captured and how old the record is. Validate a sample of your own list and enter what you find.
How should I set list age for a past-customer list?
Use the months since the phone number was last confirmed, such as the last completed job or the last time the customer answered, not the date you exported the list from your field service software. A customer last serviced three years ago counts as 36 months old.
Why do landlines count against texting?
Landlines cannot receive text messages, so appointment reminders, review requests or maintenance offers sent by SMS to a landline are wasted. For calling, a landline can still reach the homeowner, so only dead numbers count as wasted dials.
Does this check Do Not Call, litigator lists or consent?
No. The calculator only estimates reachability, and TrueSearch for Business checks validity, line type and carrier. It does not scrub against Do Not Call registries or litigator lists, and it does not verify consent. Use the official National Do Not Call Registry (donotcall.gov) and your own consent records for that.
This guide is general information, not legal advice. TrueSearch for Business checks validity, line type and carrier from licensed telecom data. It does not check the National Do Not Call Registry, state DNC lists or the FCC Reassigned Numbers Database. Not a consumer reporting agency; not for FCRA purposes.
