Spam calls every day on your 985 number?
How to stop spam calls in Houma, Louisiana (985)
If your number starts with 985, callers can see you are in the Houma area, and many spoof local 985 numbers so you pick up. Blocking them one by one does not work; they rotate numbers every day.
The reason they have your number at all: people-search sites list it next to your name and address and sell it. Get it off those sites and you are off the lists callers buy.
What to do today
- Turn on your carrier's free spam filter and your phone's spam filtering.
- Never press a key or say "yes" on a robocall; it marks your number as live.
- Scan your number free to see which people-search sites list it, then get it removed.
